Golf Links Road, Yelverton, Devon, PL20 6BN
01822 852824
Five miles from Tavistock, and situated on Roborough Down within Dartmoor National Park, Yelverton Golf Club is a delightful 18-hole course with great character that is challenging and yet fair to all standards of golfer.
Founded in 1904 and located 10 miles north of Plymouth, the course has extensive views of the moors and across the Tamar Valley to Cornwall. The course was built on the site of old mine workings, creating a variety of interesting ravines which have been used to enhance the degree of difficulty of several of the holes. A difficult par-three provides a great starting hole and is just a foretaste of what is to follow.
Another excellent par-three is the 12th, followed immediately by the formidable 13th, a par-four where your second shot has to carry a ravine! Yelverton is another course that drains well and with fairways lined by gorse and heather and fast and true greens, the par-71 course provides an interesting and testing challenge for all.
Whether it has been a good or bad game, the sight of the clubhouse at the end of a round of golf is always most welcoming. You will not be disappointed at Yelverton.
